James Schneider MS, RMHCI
Primary Therapist

James completed his undergraduate degree at Hofstra University in Psychology and obtained his Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling at Lynn University. He utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Adlerian Therapy to help clients overcome the impediments in their lives and develop a lifestyle that values the common good above one's own interests and desires.
James focuses on tailoring treatment strategies to individual clients and learning experiences that promote and facilitate change. This requires clients to take an active role in therapy. He believes most behavior is learned, and as such, healing, through adjustments in behavior, can be learned. The changes made in therapy are intended to empower clients to incorporate these changes into their daily life.
In addition to his work at Voyage, James serves as a member of the Board of Directors for The Hanley Foundation. This charity provides drug abuse prevention education throughout the State of Florida as well as scholarships for people unable to afford treatment. Prior to joining Voyage, James worked in wealth management for over a decade and is a Certified Financial PlannerTM certificant. James is the proud father of two young daughters and can often be found cheering them on at our local ice skating rink.
