MS, NCC, RMHCI

PRIMARY THERAPIST

Michaela Carney is an experienced therapist who holds a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lynn University, is a NCC (Nationally Certified Counselor), and is certified in Gottman Couples Therapy levels 1, 2, and 3.

At the core of Michaela's approach to therapy is establishing trust and rapport. She draws parallels between physical and mental resilience factors, such as goal setting, discomfort, and discipline, that ultimately lead to the triumph of achievement and showing up for oneself.

She blends practical knowledge, an understanding of evidence-based modalities, and personal experience with an approach that is empathetic yet grounded, emotional yet analytical. This balanced view allows her to guide her patients through the labyrinth of their emotions with a compassionate, steady hand. Through this dynamic approach, Michaela supports sustainable change as she steers young men toward recovery, resilience, and optimized mental health.

Specializing in relational issues, Michaela is dedicated to helping others cultivate healthy and resilient relationships, and believes in the profound benefit of group therapy fostering interpersonal skills that translate into robust, personal connections.

Michaela is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Counselor Education with a specialization in Families, Couples, and Relationships. Outside of work, she is also a National Physique Committee bodybuilding competitor and IBJJF jiu-jitsu competitor.
