Theo Hammond
LCSW
PRIMARY THERAPIST
Theo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience providing individual, group, and family therapy in residential substance use and mental health treatment settings. His clinical work focuses on addiction, anxiety, trauma, relationships, and the emotional patterns that can contribute to ongoing distress.
Theo began his career in behavioral health as a behavioral health technician before earning his Master of Social Work and becoming a licensed therapist. His early experience working directly with clients in treatment shaped his emphasis on trust, honesty, and meaningful therapeutic relationships.
Theo also brings personal experience with addiction and recovery to his work. After struggling with substance use in early adulthood, he participated in intensive treatment and therapy and made significant changes in his life. That experience influenced his decision to pursue a career in social work and continues to inform his understanding of addiction, recovery, and personal change.
At Voyage, Theo helps clients look beyond problematic behaviors to better understand the emotional, relational, and life experiences connected to them. His approach emphasizes self-awareness, personal responsibility, vulnerability, and healthier ways of relating to oneself and others, while creating a space that is supportive, direct, and focused on meaningful change.
