About the event
Most parents are prepared to talk about alcohol, marijuana, or prescription drugs. Few realize that today's teens have easy access to an entirely new category of substances that didn't exist when most of us were growing up. Products like Kratom, 7-OH, Delta-8, Delta-9, Delta-10, synthetic cannabinoids, and other hemp-derived products are inexpensive, easy to find, heavily marketed, and often misunderstood. Many are sold in smoke shops, gas stations, and online, creating the impression that they're safer than they really are.
Join Brandy Price Klingman of St. Christopher's House and Kevin Bandy of Voyage Recovery for a free community education session that explains what these substances are, where they're found, how they affect a young person's brain, and what every adult who works with or cares about young people should know.
During this session, you'll learn:
What these emerging substances are—and why they're different from traditional drugs
Why products like Kratom, 7-OH, and Delta-8…
